Roja Safartabar
Litigator / Collaborative Divorce Lawyer / Certified Family Law Mediator
Roja received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications, first class with distinction, from Simon Fraser University in 2011, and her Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia in 2014. She was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 2015. Roja spent the first ten years of her career at a leading regional full-service law firm before joining AGDN in 2024.
Roja has worked on high-profile cases spanning national, international, and local levels, and has represented clients in all levels of court in British Columbia. Roja has also participated in alternative dispute resolution forums, including arbitration and mediation. Roja provides services to her clients from either a litigation or collaborative approach depending on the individual needs of her clients. She believes that most family law files can and should be settled outside of the court process, however, when that is not possible, she litigates matters to a resolution.
Roja’s practice includes all matters affecting families in British Columbia such as separation, divorce, property division, spousal support, child support, guardianship, residency, and parenting time. Roja has extensive experience working on complex files dealing with high net-worth asset division, common law trusts and intricate income and support issues. Roja’s files have involved multi-party disputes, worldwide assets, and intergenerational wealth. Roja’s practice also includes drafting and negotiating cohabitation, marriage, and separation agreements.
Roja is a certified Collaborative Divorce Lawyer and an accredited Family Law Mediator. She is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and Collaborative Divorce Vancouver.
Roja is a contributing author to CLEBC’s publication on Financial Issues in Family Law and has authored and presented at CLEBC’s courses for lawyers.
